We’ve all been shaking our heads wondering how these two groups that are supposed to represent our best interests could be supporting this monstrosity. It all comes down to money.

AMA has received $5,357,006 in grants from the Federal Government between 2000-2009.
AMA has received $89,561,537 in Federal Contracts between 2000-2009.
AARP has received $490,179,631 in grants from the Federal Government between 2000-2009.
In addition, AARP has received $1,461,354in Federal Contracts between 2000-2009. Interesting – $1,316,876 of this money is in a contract that was issued on 9/12/08 for an AARP Magazine subscription.
