As the last week has unfolded for the Administration and Van Jones, I’m left wondering about the Administrations application form is working out for them?
Remember last November when the big news was the seven-page, 63-item questionnaire that every candidate for Cabinet and other high-ranking positions in the incoming administration was to fill out. According to CNN:
The largest part of the questionnaire asks prospective White House appointees and their spouses to list real estate and other business transactions, affiliations and relationships as well as personal financial and tax information.
It also asks about writings, speeches, testimony, online communications and even personal diaries.
An entire section requests details on any criminal or civil legal action in which the applicant may have been involved. The last question in that 11-item section asks for details on any child support or alimony orders.
In an apparent effort to avoid the problems faced by several nominees in the last two administrations, a block of four questions is devoted to ferreting out details — including the immigration status — of any domestic help the applicant may have hired.
Question 61 seems to have been prompted by the controversy over former 1960s radical William Ayres in Obama‘s campaign: “Have you had any association with any person, group or business venture that could be used — even unfairly — to impugn or attack your character or qualifications for government service?”
It would seem that Van Jones’ position would be considered a “high ranking position” and he would definitely be considered an “appointee”.
Glenn Beck – maybe your question to the Administration should have been – did Van Jones fill out one of these questionnaires?
Personally, I believe they knew exactly what they were getting with Van Jones and didn’t care what people found. This Administration feels it is above reproach and worst still that we have no right to question what they do.

According to the Washington Post.
“I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today,” Jones said in a statement dated Sept 5 released around midnight on Sept 6.
“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me.They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide,” he continued. “I have been inundated with calls — from across the political spectrum — urging me to ‘stay and fight.’ But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.”
Yeah, that’s it – I didn’t do anything wrong – all those horrible people were smearing me. Somehow I think Obama will make sure he lands on his feet.
Funny – I seem to be feeling a tingle running up my leg and I’m full of hope for change ;o)
You have to admit he can come up with some material, although I’m not sure comparing the US economy to the Stalin forced labor camps is really accurate. But as far as I can tell – he doesn’t worry too much about accuracy.
According to Van we need to stop the Polluters and Incarcerators by taking away their money and giving it to the good guys – him. We need to free all the prisoners and teach them along with the prison guards how to install solar panels. Sure Van – then we’ll all ride around our Utopia on our unicorns. No more crime, no more poverty, we’ll all just get along and to think all we needed were solar panels.
Wow is all I can say…………..

At the risk of piling on, I made a discovery of my own related to Jones’ past. As has been detailed elsewhere, Jones was the founder and long-time executive director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. One of the Center’s projects that Jones was involved in has been little noted or discussed at this stage: a record label sponsored by the Center called Freedom Fighter Music. The label appears to have been created in the 2002-3 timeframe, and to have fizzled out by 2005-6. And apparently, Freedom Fighter only ever produced 2 or 3 albums.
I managed to track down an MP3 of the full album entitled WarTimes: Reports from the Opposition. And lo and behold, not only did Jones run the organization which sponsored the creation of this album, but he is also featured on the album itself. I created a highlight clip featuring Mumia Abu Jamal and some of the more outrageous song lyrics (NSFW WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE). The clip featuring the short interview with Jones begins at about 3:45…but the whole clip is worth a listen, IMO.
Just in case you missed the words. Via Gateway Pundit.
Various Singers-Poets: The American way, manufactuered by these white folks in office. By these rich men here to mock us. The United States is a stolen land led by right-wing, war hungry, oil thirsty. And when it’s all said and done they still can’t clean their own place because they got people of color playing servant to do that sh*t for them… The true terrorists are made in the US, in this police state… The US is a crack-fiend for oil. And they’re ready to rape, kill, assault, rob anybody and everybody…
Bombing babies in the night. Two wrongs don’t make a right… The US needs to exit its colonies in Iraq, in the region and finally in Israel.
Van Jones: At this point. The end of the occupation. The right of return of the Palestinian people. These are critical dividing lines in human rights. We have to be here. No American would put up with an Israeli-style occupation of their home town for 53 days let alone 54 years. US tax dollars are funding violence against people of color in the US borders and outside the US borders.
I guess there’ s no doubt about the connection between Jones and Mumia Abu Jamal now.
How must she feel when he espouses his hate diatribe?
And those beautiful babies, how will they feel about the racist comments he makes?
“The bigots have had their turn. It’s our turn now.”
Van Jones on prisons.
“Slave ship on dry land”
“Turning Dow Jones into a high tech slave auction”
The goal is complete revolution away from capitalism.
There is as much disdain dripping from Van Jones words in these videos as there is in this one of Obama.
We were all taught now to judge a book by it’s cover. The American people certainly didn’t follow this advice as Obama was only judged by the cover – they never even opened the book. Will we continue to make the same mistake?

Yes, he call the Republicans “assholes” (1:07) in this video and while it’s fun banter there’s so much more that was said……….
“The slogan of green jobs is the banner under which all of the Pro-Democracy forces can gather for the next big assault.”
Van Jones believes that we must go through the ‘necessary’ pain as sometimes you have to have a breakdown before you can have a breakthrough. He has every intention of moving forward with our ‘breakdown’ and is gathering the forces from our prisons to assist him.
This man, his groups and his movement are starting a ‘revolution’ with the ‘Obama billions’. Are we paying attention?
So, do you agree with our utilities being taken over by the government? Van Jones believes that we should have Democratic public ownership of utilities. Considering where he is in this Administration – he’s got a shot at this.
Don’t be foolish by watching only the video clips you’re being provided – watch the entire video. Educate yourself on what’s to come if the Obama Administration is left un-checked.
