Via Breitbart:
The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.
2 weeks……….
Rather than recognizing concrete achievement, the 2009 prize appeared intended to support initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.
So this is a pre-emptive award?

I continue to be amazed at how differently politicians speak when they don’t think they’re being recorded.
They’re trying to scare you.
You remember Robert Reich don’t you? He’s the Obama advisor that didn’t want recovery jobs to go to “white male construction workers”.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the Senate Finance Committee health-care bill won’t be the one that comes to Senate floor.
Click photo to watch video.
If we are to take Mr. Reid at his word – then why did the CBO bother to cost out the bill proposal?
The CBO estimate will turn into ‘cover’ for the members of Congress that vote yes on this monstrosity. They will vote yes and then tell us that they would have never voted for the bill if they had known……………….oh well, too late now.
Message to Congress – at least 80% of Americans have demanded that you read the bills before you sign them. We will not allow you to use this as an excuse. If you vote on a bill without knowing the details/impact to your constituents – we will vote you out.

It’s elementary. Kevin Jennings believes the only way to keep children safe is to teach them about tolerance. He wants to teach tolerance by teaching elementary school children about gay lifestyles.
“It’s Elementaryis the most important film dealing with LGBT issues and safe schools ever made. It took a topic that was mystifying to many people and made it real, inspiring an entire generation of educators to see how they could make a difference…. No other film has had a bigger impact on LGBT issues in the schools.” —Kevin Jennings, executive director, Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network
The main problem with this agenda is the fact that Kevin Jennings has a complete disregard for the parents of these children. Most parents do not want anything sexual discussed with their children in elementary school. These are discussions that should be happening between parents and children to ensure the parents/family morals and religious guidelines are at the forefront of the discussion. Parents do not lose their right to parent because their children are in public schools.
In addition, his focus does not seem to be on all children – only gay children – which by his own estimates are approximately 7% of school age children. What about the other 93%?
In a 2006 interview with Salon, Jennings said:
“I always remind myself that Americans have all been raised to pledge allegiance to the ideal of liberty and justice for all. And eventually the disconnect between how we treat some people and those ideals becomes so overwhelming that the majority of Americans will say, “Enough, this has to stop.” That’s what led to the end of slavery, that’s what led to suffrage, that’s what led to the civil rights movement — it’s when people have the disconnect between the American reality and American ideals shoved in their face to the point they can no longer take it. That’ll happen on this issue too, no doubt in my mind.”
This is an interesting pick for Obama if you look back at his comments regarding Bush’s pick of James Holsinger as Surgeon General.
President Obama, I have serious reservations about nominating someone who would inject his own pro-gay ideology into critical decisions about the health and well-being of our children.

“When you show me you care, I’ll be willing to talk to you – until then – why don’t you turn the day of silence into a year of silence for yourselves.”
Sign of the times – if we disagree – we don’t care – or count.

As I reported on September 12, 2009;
Why has FEMA paid The Acorn Institute $1.4 Million in grants since August 2008?
Paid 8/29/08 – Fiscal Year 2007 = $450,484
Paid 9/04/09 – Fiscal Year 2008 – $997,402 (only 6 grants were issued for more money than ACORN – out of 220 grants)
According to the FEMA website the purpose of these grants are:
The purpose of the Fire Prevention and Safety Grants is to fund Fire Prevention and Research and Development activities. Fire Prevention Grant Activities are designed to reach high-risk target groups and mitigate incidences of deaths and injuries caused by fire and fire-related hazards. Research and Development Grant Activities are aimed at improvements to firefighter health and safety.
It is being reported by Fox News that the funds related to the 2009 grant have been frozen.

Thanks to Hot Air – you can calculate it – and should.
Barack Obama and his Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill have tried to sell ObamaCare as a way to make health insurance more affordable for all Americans, but does it deliver? The AP sounded skeptical on Sunday, when they analyzed the various proposals, noting a number of ways in which costs will escalate for consumers outside of Congressional sales pitches. The article also links a handy tool from the Kaiser Family Foundation, generally supportive of health-care reform, that allows consumers to get an idea of what ObamaCare will cost them individually and as families.
The Kaiser tool also helps quantify the subsidies. At an annual income of $33,000, for instance, a family of four would get over $10,000 in tax refundables to help pay for their health insurance, only contributing less than $1500 out of their own pocket. The total tax liability for a family earning $33K per year falls far below $10,000, which means they will not only pay no income taxes but will take away from the general fund. At $44K, twice the poverty level, the family would pay $3,070 for their insurance and get $8,445 in subsidies, which would likely also far outstrip their tax liability. We will pay each family earning $66,000 over $3600 a year in subsidies despite the fact that they make far above the median American income.
Try out the Kaiser web site and see for yourself.
I did – this free insurance is going to cost me more than 250% more than what I am currently paying…………………
Since I make less than $250,000 a year and this fee is considered an excise tax – Obama – YOU LIE!!!

The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.
But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.
So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.
All this to provide a visual counter to complaints from other doctors that pending legislation is bad news for the medical profession.
Of course what they don’t tell you is that these 150 doctors are the only doctors they could find that would support this plan – it took them weeks – and probably million of our dollars in grants ;o)

In February of 2009 Fathiyyah Muhammad of Jacksonville, Florida, heard that ACORN was paying three dollars for each vote you could register. Fatiyyah claims she registered voters for Acorn there (at three dollars each), but that the group threw out her votes and fired her when she brought them GOP registrations.
It’s hard to know if this story is real. I’m hoping that Atlas at least saw some kind of documentation that Ms. Muhammad actually worked for ACORN. It bothers me that there is no name of an ACORN employee given. However, this is not ACORN’s first voter registration fraud in Florida:
Federal and state authorities in Miami are still searching for five of the 11 people suspected of falsifying information on hundreds of voter registration cards — including registering the name of the late actor Paul Newman — the Florida Department of Law Enforcement told FOXNews.com Thursday.
Six people were taken into custody Wednesday as arrest warrants were issued for 11 workers hired by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now — or ACORN — on charges of voter registration fraud.
Florida state attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle said the 11 workers hired to register voters by ACORN in Homestead, Fla., submitted 888 fraudulent names — which included names of people who were already registered voters, fictitious names, and the name of the late actor Paul Newman, who died in Sept. 2008.
Do you ever wonder if your vote counted – if just maybe some of these fraudulent registrations turned into REAL votes? I know I do……………

Yes, I rooted for Chicago to lose the Olympic bid. I was rooting for the Chicago majority that didn’t want the Olympics in their town – rooting for the citizens that need money spent on their protection – not a photo op for Obama in 2016.
Does this mean I was rooting against America? Of course not.
It seems the Democrats don’t agree. Via Politico:
But the joyous reaction in some GOP quarters to the International Olympics Committee’s snub of Chicago — coupled with the party’s rapid-fire reaction to bad economic data – has some Democrats turning the tables and asking if Republicans are the ones cheering against America now.
Many Democrats saw the outbursts following the IOC decision – the merry Tweets, videos of cheering conservatives and chest-thumping by party leaders like Newt Gingrich — as part of larger pattern that includes the flirtation of right-wing Texans like Gov. Rick Perry with secession and the caustic tone of right-wing talk radio, embodied by Rush Limbaugh’s “I want him to fail” comment about Obama in January.
Wake up Democrats. It is NEVER un-American to back the will of the majority of American citizens. My questions:
It seems to me that the Chicagoans that did not support the Olympics in their city should be thanking the Republicans – for supporting them.

Politico is reporting:
According to sources close to the administration, Gen McChrystal shocked and angered presidential advisers with the bluntness of a speech given in London last week.
The next day he was summoned to an awkward 25-minute face-to-face meeting on board Air Force One on the tarmac in Copenhagen, where the president had arrived to tout Chicago’s unsuccessful Olympic bid.
An adviser to the administration said: “People aren’t sure whether McChrystal is being naïve or an upstart. To my mind he doesn’t seem ready for this Washington hard-ball and is just speaking his mind too plainly.”
Speaking his mind too plainly…………….code for – how dare he tell the truth!
This administration really has no clue about military code or morals. When they put General McChrystal in charge of the troops in his mind they put the lives of those troops in his hands. No military commander worth his salt would sit by quietly – doing the political thing – while his soldiers die.
Rather than blame General McChrystal, maybe Obama should be asking where his administration broke down in communicating the needs of our troops. Why was this ignored until the media reported?
Thank you General McChrystal for standing up for our troops.
I had to look twice – but yes, this was ABC…………
Best line.
“There is no problem that will not melt before the sunshine of his charm.”

You have to give Bay Buchanan credit for trying – but there’s just no discussing Obama with Joy or Garofalo – it’s racist – reality doesn’t matter.
As usual Joy Behar doesn’t bother reading the news before she tries to report it as she discuss the “Obama assassination poll”;
“We’ve never seen that for any other President.”
Yes, we have Joy. Via Washington Examiner:
It’s clear that the Secret Service’s job is to take threats to the president seriously but what should be the standards for Facebook?
Several groups on Facebook are dedicated to the demise of George W. Bush. Most of the dozen or so groups dedicated to killing him however, have only a few followers, but some of them have become quite popular.
For example there is a group named “We all Want To Kill George Bush” with 429 members, and LETS KILL BUSH WITH SHOES has 484 members.
The optimistic leader of the group “I bet that I can find 1000000 people who wanted to kill Bush” has fallen short with 518 members.
A quick search for any threatening groups towards Bill Clinton suggests that he got off the hook, but his wife Hillary has earned a few threatening fans such as the members of the group “Kill Hillary” and “If Hillary Clinton is Elected, I’m shooting her.”
Fortunately only 7 members joined the group “If 20 people join we’re going to pay the Russians to kill Hillary Clinton.”
Silly me – I forgot – we’re talking about CNN. Accuracy is not one of their strong points……………..
I’m not sure how they let this slip through the censorship – but it’s hilarious……………..Quite frankly this is the most accurate look at the Obama Presidency that’s been shown on the ‘mainstream media’. Sad state of affairs – Saturday Night Live – accurate – Mainstream News Media – not so much.
UPDATE:
Seeing this made me wonder how Obama stacked up against President Bush and President Clintons records from January 20th to October 2nd of their first terms as it relates to legislation signed by each President.
Obama = 64 pieces of legislation signed into law*
Bush = 199 pieces of legislation signed into law
Clinton = 264 pieces of legislation signed into law
*of these 64 – 16 were legislation to designate names of federal buildings
President Obama – maybe you should consider lightening your travel and speaking tours and focus on running the country. It seems that you may not be able to multi-task.
This is actually a report card on our leadership and Congress – the President can’t sign legislation if the Congress cannot get it done – Congress cannot get it done without leadership.

I opened the Drudge Report this morning and just sat back……………………..Obama thinks this is a fairy tale – our soldiers think this is a war.
Via Times of London:
There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama’s presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence.
Chicago’s dismal showing yesterday, after Mr Obama’s personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. It cannot be emphasised enough how this will feed the perception that on the world stage he looks good — but carries no heft.
Mr Obama was greeted — as usual — like a rock star by the IOC delegates in Copenhagen — then humiliated by them. Perception is reality. A narrow defeat for Chicago would have been acceptable — but the sheer scale of the defeat was a bombshell, and is a major blow for Mr Obama at a time when questions are being asked about his style of governance.
Why is it so easy for so many far away to see this so clearly – while so many of those so close are blinded.
Bush may not have been loved by many, but he was feared by many. Which would you prefer?

Delaware must be so proud.
Rep. Tom Carper (D-DE) explains in this video why he won’t read the bill – “it’s hard to decipher what it means”.
“For example, credit card disclosures – do you actually read this stuff?”
“That’s one of the reasons why we’ve directed among others, banks, to use plain language – plain english to explain what they’re doing so that the jibberish – you know – you can’t read it and really know what it says”
Rep. Carper, just based on the statements and direct “quotes” from the health care bill (H.R. 3200) that were made at Town Hall Meetings all over the Country by regular ‘ole citizens – it’s obvious that many Americans can indeed read and comprehend difficult legislation. Further, they should be given the opportunity to do so. It’s OUR legislation and we have a right to know what’s in this legislation BEFORE you vote on this.
I’ll tell you what Rep. Carper – send me the bill – give me a couple of days and I’ll sit down with you and explain it to you. C’mon it will be fun, I’ll even invite some friends ;o)
Additionally, if Congress can direct the banks (among others) to us plain language why can’t the Congress direct Congress to use plain language????????? The Constitution, Bill of Rights and Ten Commandments are very clear and enduring documents – written in plain language.
I’m not sure if Carper is REALLY honest or REALLYdumb. This is the same man that last week put the Administration and Congress on blast for going back on their “secret negotiations” with Pharma. Via Firedog Lake:
In a stunning moment during the Senate Finance Committee markup Sen. Tom Carper defended a secret deal that the White House, Baucus, and PhRMA had reached. The White House has long denied the deal. Carper publicly acknowledges that part of the deal was that PhRMA would run millions of dollars worth of campaign ads in support of health care reform.
According to Carper the “golden rule” in Congress is that secret back room deals in exchange for advertising buys must be honored.
Geez, he would have never lasted in Chicago…………….
